State law mandates that schools, day care centers, health care facilities, and others require such checks as part of the hiring process. Some individuals are also required to have a background check to obtain professional licensure. 

At Linq Solutions, we use a Live scan fingerprinting device to submit your background check. It's a digital scanning process that captures your fingerprints and sends them electronically to a law enforcement agency. We also offer the FD258 ink card fingerprinting.

Fingerprinting is required to for both FBI and BCI background checks. The BCI background check is performed by the state of Ohio, whereas an FBI background check is performed by the federal government. Both background checks are performed to search for criminal records. *It may take up to 30 days to receive results for either of the background checks. 

To ensure a quick and efficient process when getting Live Scan Fingerprinting, applicants must prepare the necessary documents and information before visiting.

• A government-issued photo ID. The ID must be valid and unexpired to be the primary valid identification. Acceptable IDs include a driver’s license, state ID, passport, military ID, and green card.
• The requesting agency's information. Typically, the requester will provide the applicant with a request for Live Scan form.
• Payment: we accept cash; however, we prefer card payment.

This is a complex question. It depends on what the requesting agency is looking for.

In most cases, sealed and expunged records will not show up on your background check. The most common exception is an offense that is related to the requesting agency's line of work. For example, if you're applying to become a driving instructor, a sealed or expunged case that involves a traffic violation WOULD show up on your background check. It's ultimately the employment agency's decision. 

You can expect to be here in the office for about 15 minutes filling out paperwork and giving your fingerprints. Once your fingerprints are submitted, it could take up to 30 days for your results.
